Length and chart feel

Song duration and chart difficulty in RockClash

RockClash exposes duration and chart difficulty as separate song-creation settings. Duration requests the song length; difficulty targets the playable four-lane chart feel through easy, normal, hard or expert. A longer song is not automatically a harder chart, and a harder chart does not guarantee a higher score.

01

Choose for the intended session

Select a duration you are prepared to listen to and play-test, then choose a chart difficulty you can evaluate. Keeping these decisions separate makes it easier to understand whether feedback concerns the song or the beatmap.

  • Set length for the intended use
  • Choose a testable difficulty
  • Do not infer density from duration alone
02

Validate after creation

Play the completed chart and inspect score, accuracy, combo and note grades. If the selected level is not readable for you, a different difficulty is a better comparison than judging the song solely from one failed run.

  • Complete a baseline run
  • Review the performance breakdown
  • Compare difficulty using the same song
